Sharing Seniors : Authentic Homemade Food and Community History / Eun Kyeong "Olivia" Do, Won Jae Song, The Diversity Times, The Korea Times
The book is the result of a project by The Diversity Times to encourage seniors to voluntarily participate in community events to help them stay active in their respective communities. The Times had three groups composed of mostly seniors across Manitoba, with some other age groups. One group was based out of Neubergthal and Altona, another out of Mitchell by Steinbach, and finally, one from Winnipeg. The seniors' task was to share recipes and write about their experience. This book includes community history, seniors' family holiday-related stories and childhood stories, and a brief history of certain foods, which came from the participants. Includes recipes from many different cultures including Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Mennonite, and Vietnamese. -- Adapted from preface.
